It all started with Janusz and Glenda Sowinski
Animix was established in 1994 and since then has been manufacturing high-quality products for animal feed, focusing on the milk replacer industry. Animix provides milk replacer makers with premixes and ingredients that improve the consistency and performance of their products while also supplying high-value custom-formulated private label supplements. Animix has customers in North America and overseas.
In 1996 Janusz Sowinski was hired with an eye toward purchasing the business. Before coming to Animix Janusz published over thirty research papers pertaining to young animal nutrition in scientific journals and professional magazines. He received a degree in Agronomy and Animal Science from Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Poland. After moving to the United States, he started working for a leading milk replacer manufacturer, managing veal feed sales and calf research. Janusz and Glenda bought the company in 2004.
In 2022 Benford Capital Partners – a Chicago based private equity firm has acquired Animix. Ronelle Blome (President) and Dave Wood (Director of Sales and Technical Services) continue to lead the company.
