Director of Dairy Sales and Technical Support

Basic Overview of Position

The Director of Dairy Sales and Technical Support is a newly created role that will be a vital addition to the existing Animix sales team. The person selected for this exciting opportunity will leverage their experience in the dairy industry and develop, expand, and promote sales of the company’s feed additive and nutrition solutions to dairy nutritionists and feed manufacturers. This includes expansion of existing markets as well as identifying and creating inroads into new opportunities, domestically and perhaps internationally.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead Animix’s entry into the dairy market by leveraging their experience and contacts, by growing revenue outside the company’s current focus of calf milk replacer products.
• Develop and expand the sales and promotion of the company’s feed additive and nutrition solutions to dairy nutritionists and feed manufacturers.
• Provide new product development support in collaboration with the Director of R&D and Commercialization.
• Maintain and expand the customer base by:
  • Building rapport with key customers
  • Identifying new customer opportunities
  • Recommending products based on customer needs and requirements
  • Solving customer problems and exceeding their expectations
• Implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
• Win new business with customers not currently being served by Animix.
• Utilizing CRM technology to organize and analyze all customer communications, data, and sales opportunities.
• Develop research/data-driven sales presentations that showcase Animix’s unique capabilities and benefits to the dairy industry.
• Develop and track sales analytics and KPI’s that enable effective management.
• Employing data driven analysis, with the input from the President, Sales, and R&D team, assisting with key decisions regarding product and customer level sales review, pricing, and margins.
• Provide technical support to customers when needed

Additional Responsibilities

• Present status of account base during regular progress and meetings, as needed.
• Lead the launch of new products, initiatives, or marketing programs in the dairy industry.
• Deliver sales presentations to key accounts or nutritional groups.
• Prepare periodic sales reports showing key metrics including areas of proposed client-base expansion.
• Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of competitors.
• Assist the operations team at Animix with product development, qualifying new ingredients, and other customer-driven requirements.

Organizational Interfaces

The Director of Dairy Sales and Technical Support is a part of the Animix Sales Team and reports directly to the President.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Dairy, Animal Science, Agriculture, or relevant field; Master’s, PhD, or DVM degree preferred
• Minimum 4 years outside sales experience, preferably with feed additive and/or nutritional health solutions focus

Specialized Knowledge/Skills

• Success introducing new products to the dairy market and supporting the company’s base business.
• Demonstrated ability and skills to sell and grow business based on features, advantages, benefits.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a remote/home office position with occasional visits to the main office in Juneau, WI for sales meetings, and other meetings as required.

 Travel:

• Flexible and willingness to travel from 40% – 60%; domestic and possibly some international.
