Basic Overview of the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated HR Generalist with experience in the manufacturing industry coupled with experience in safety to join our team. The HR Generalist will be responsible for implementing HR policies and procedures, managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and supporting overall HR operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  This position may lead to a higher level of responsibility surrounding company safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Human Resources in delivering exceptional support to all stakeholders who rely on the HR Department for support and collaboration.
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources with oversight of all HR policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Assist with the recruitment of employees, including sourcing, interviewing, onboarding, and conducting orientation.
  • Will be the go-to expert for all company benefit related inquiries. Working directly with our Benefits Broker and other third-party organizations support our employees.
  • Manage employee relations issues and concerns and supporting a positive and productive work culture.
  • Maintain HR records, employee files, and ensure data accuracy in HRIS systems.
  • Assist in training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and other relevant and applicable regulations.
  • Support payroll processing and be available as a backup to process weekly payroll and resolve employee inquiries as needed.
  • Maintain and monitor the employee quarterly incentive program.
  • Maintain and monitor attendance and performance disciplinary actions.
  • As directed by the Director of Human Resources, assist with and/or conduct investigations related to employee concerns and/or disciplinary actions.
  • Prepare, create, and facilitate the delivery of reports as required for the department and at the request of other managers.
  • Promote workplace safety and collaborate with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) teams and committee(s).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and HR projects to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Daily and ongoing communication with the Director of Human Resources
  • Other duties as assigned

Organizational Interfaces

As an HR Professional you will be required to interact with all Animix employees from the President to the newest team member.  A primary goal is to provide tools to managers of people, so they are equipped to develop and motivate their teams to be safe, highly productive, and efficient workers.

Education and Work Experience

  • Requires a minimum of an associate degree in Human Resources coupled with 2-5 years of experience generalist experience
  • Experience monitoring, facilitating, or coordinating Safety programs is preferred.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills

  • Above average capabilities using:
    • MS Excel (ability to create and manipulate pivot tables preferred)
    • MS PowerPoint (experience in creating professional presentations for self or others and prefer experience with delivering messages and/or training)
  • OSHA Certifications (preferred)

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Typical office setting
  • Will move between two plants periodically
    • Plants located approximately 10 minutes apart
  • Work can sometimes be in a dusty environment within the warehouse and/or production facility
  • Ability to lift typical office supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs.
  • No known allergies to dairy ingredients
  • Ability to climb stairs, work at heights if needed
  • May at times be required to wear a disposable respirator (N95) for brief periods when in the production area
