Plant Lead

Position Overview

Motivated individual who can oversee, participate in daily plant operations, and provide additional support where needed. This individual will be responsible for ensuring Animix is producing high quality products that meet customer specifications. Additionally, Plant Lead is responsible for working independently and accurately while following Animix policies and procedures. The Lead will need to communicate effectively with employees, Customer Service, and other Animix team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:

• Assist with all duties related to set-up and splitting to fulfill production schedule
• Assist with all duties related to shipping and receiving of all Animix products
• Assist in daily production duties necessary to fulfill production schedule
• Assist in the transfer of items and products between facilities
• Lead by example in delivering excellence in your area of responsibility
• Participate in the training of new employees
• Maintain cleanliness of inside/outside of plant
• Assist in providing a clean and safe work environment
• Ensure safe handling of all products
• Monitor product inventory levels and communicate to Plant Supervisor when product is running low
• To follow all SOP’s, GMP’s and HACCP guidelines and regulations
• Assist the plant supervisor with maintaining the Animix culture amongst the plant employees

Supervisory Duties

This is a non-supervisory position

Organizational Interfaces

The Plant Lead reports directly to the Plant Supervisor and will work closely with the other members of the production team

Education and Work Experience

• Prior manufacturing experience
• Prior experience in a lead position
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

Specialized Knowledge/Skills     (Includes certifications, licenses, equipment, applications, other technology, etc.)

• Ability to operate forklift and other material handling equipment is a plus
• Computer Literate – Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and operating a barcode scanner
• Basic math skills

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Must be comfortable and safe in all Animix facilities including production areas
• Ability to lift 50 – 55 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs, work at heights
• Comfortable with dusty environment
• No known allergies to milk ingredients
